Art and chess are two subjects that hold much fascination for me. I have always wanted to express myself artistically, but for a profession, I took a path that provided a successful living with very little opportunity to be expressive. In my search for a way to be expressive, to be original and to create works of intellectual substance, I found that wonderful art can be created and differentiated by specific chess strategies, structures, players, and even errors that occur during a game.

I have developed this concept over many years. Each image is of a specific game, and they all have the same rules, although the representations and methods are continually changing. This forces me to move onward with the concept, and provides a means to avoid boredom in the art itself. I have adapted these concepts to other games, including the Asian game of Go and other chess variants.
