Once There Was a Prison
Gun Legler writes, "I live in Sweden in a little village near Gothenburg.
When I was 40 I left my job as a child psychologist and teacher,
and went to art school where I learned graphic art (etchings and such)
for four years. Besides that I have worked much with textile collages
and watercolor collages. After buying my first computer ten years ago,
I more and more concentrated on digital art. Now the computer takes all my time .
I have no education in computer art. I am self-taught. I work in PaintShopPro and
sometimes Photoshop. I work mostly from photos, my own and others.
Textures are very important for me. I think my love for working with textiles
has given birth to that love. With my images I try to evoke an emotional response in the viewer.
I try to portray feelings and states of mind in an aesthetic but not always pleasing way."
