Charles A. Sessoms is a filmmaker and fine art photographer educated at the State University of New York at Binghamton and the School of Visual Arts. He has received awards from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The National Endowment for the Humanities, The DC Commission on the Arts, The Tony Cox Fund, the Massachusetts Arts Commission, The National Black Programming Consortium and the Atlanta Arts Festival. He has exhibited at the City Gallery East and New Vision Gallery in Atlanta, MOCA DC, the Foundry Gallery in Washington and the Provincetown Museum and the Star Gallery on Cape Cod. In 1999 he was invited to create a video installation for ALTERED BELIEFS: A SURVEY OF THE BLACK AESTHETIC at the City Gallery East in Atlanta. Since returning to Washington Mr. Sessoms has exhibited at the Touchstone Gallery, the 39th Street Gallery in Mount Rainier, the Corner Store and the Driskell Center at the UMD among others. In 2011 Charles was invited to participate in CENTER FORWARD 2011, at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins Colorado. Also in 2011 a video piece of his called FEAR was included in BITE at the Greater Reston Arts Center.
