The artist writes, "Busy, busy, busy - what a Bokononist whispers whenever he thinks about how complicated and unpredictable the machinery of life really is." Bokonism is a fictional religion used in the classic Kurt Vonnegut novel "Cat's Cradle" published in 1963.

Bokonon's 53rd Calypso from "Cat's Cradle":

Oh, a sleeping drunkard
Up in Central Park,
And a lion-hunter
In the jungle dark,
And a chinese dentist,
And a British queen -
All fit together
In the same machine.
Nice, nice, very nice;
Nice, nice, very nice;
Nice, nice, very nice -
So many different people
In the same device.

This animated fractal is based on Mandelbulb 3D software. It was a popular entry in the Fractal Forum 2012 short animation competition. An interesting example of the possibilities inherent in 3D rendering technique applied to the geometry of Benoit Mandelbrot.
