Cecil Lee

I was born in New York City and raised in a community named Harlem. As a young boy, my father, an amateur photographer, was my earliest artistic exposure. My interests however were tactile and involved things like wood shop and painting. As a young man, I became interested in using the computer to create art.

I use the term ?Computer Evolved Art? to describe my work. Built from my photographs, paintings, mixed media images, digital drawings and color patterns that are organized into layers, manipulated with a drawing pad, filters and numerous other digital effects are all elements of the evolving process. Artistically, my objective is at all times experimental and ongoing. My work often undergoes numerous generations of altering, sometimes spanning years before I consider it completed.

What is Computer Evolved Art? CEA is the combining of photography, art created with image manipulation software, digital drawing/painting and scanned images which the artist combines into unique works of art. Just as painter who uses a brush and paints, the sculptor a chisel and hammer.
